Tricky One - Can Backbone router learn default route from NSSA?

Hi,
As per your setup, R1 is not ABR/ASBR, so area 100 nssa default-information-originate cant be used on R1, now if the Task says to advertise a default from R1, maybe there is another way..
Why not default-information originate always ? on R1

Tricky One - Can Backbone router learn default route from NSSA?

Hi ,
Normally Default route should be sent by ABR but I think it was mentioned that the default route has to be sent from R1 as part of the Task requirement, technically we should be able to send a default route from any router why only the ABR, right ?
Can someone explain it pls.
Thanks
Shanky

IEWB - Lab 6 - Task 6.4 (Multicast Testing)

Hi Anderson,
When you configure the *ip igmp static-group* command, packets to the group are fast-switched out the interface, provided that packets were received on the correct reverse path forwarding (RPF) interface.
Configuring the *ip igmp static-group* command is unlike configuring the *ip igmp join-group* command, which allows the router to join the multicast group. This […]

Tricky One - Can Backbone router learn default route from NSSA?

R1 is not the ABR. R3 is the ABR and therefore the one who should inject the 0/0 route. HTH, Scott Morris, CCIE4 (R&S/ISP-Dial/Security/Service Provider) #4713, JNCIE #153, CISSP, et al. IEWB - Lab 6 - Task 6.4 (Multicast Testing)

Hi Shanky,
That’s my understanding as well, ip igmp join-group the router will process and respond to ICMP request to the group and when you configure using ip igmp static-group the router won’t process it and will pass directly the requests to the source of the multicast group using fast switch process.
So since […]

Tricky One - Can Backbone router learn default route from NSSA?

Thanks for responding Alex. Looks like the forwarding address check was designed to prevent routing loops by using external routing information to get to external routes.
However in this case wouldn’t a connected route be considered an internal route?

IEWB - Lab 6 - Task 6.4 (Multicast Testing)

Hi,
In my understanding,
ip igmp join-group will cause the router to process the multicast traffic ip igmp static-group will cause the router to flood the traffic on to the multicast enabled interfaces but not process it.

Task 6.4 (Multicast Testing)

Hi Brians,
The question is asking you to configure the igmp group 225.25.25.25 for testing purposes, to be configured on SW1 and to not allow SW1 to process switch this traffic:

Enable access for VTY

This thread is kind of continuation of another thread posted by me earlier. One of the requirements was to use AAA.
Hope this clarifies.
