So without changing the as path that comes from R9. Maybe I should change my advertisement out of R9. This way even if R6 prefers these routes through AS1 it will still advertise these routes to R4 because I did not change any local attribute within AS 567. Am I correct?

My personal preference is to always use a route-map when redistributing routes from one IGP to another (or from connected into an IGP)
I’m not sure I understand your comments about restrictions when using a route-map. Using a route-map provides a lot more flexibility and control.

If they are already there when you sit down in front of the computer to do the lab, the ordered set you just described may not help you.
If you get them, configure your frame appropriately and reboot. That is the best bet.
