GRE tunnel between non-directly connected router and switch

When keepalives are disabled the tunnel endpoint has no idea if the tunnel is really working or not so you cannot rely on the fact that the tunnel interface says it is up. In this case however I do believe the tunnel is working because on SW1 I can ping the other end of the tunnel - from SW1 I can ping 192.168.0.6. There is no routing enabled on the network so the only way for SW1 to ping 192.168.0.6 is via the tunnel.
