How do you fight spam in your enterprise? I need help

Basically there are a few things you can do but I find it best not to even let spam get to the exchange server. You dont want your server processing all that junk and if it has viruses in it you dont even want to let it touch the server. I have used many different anti spam software and appliances and the best by far I have found to be the baracuda anti spam firewalls. Bascially you point your mx record to the cuda and then the cuda delivers cleaned mail to the exchange.

While appliances such as Barracude do a fine job, they can not take away the additional bandwidth clutter on the network. Using a hosted third-party provider such as Postini will provide this element.

As an added benefit by reducing bandwidth clutter due to excessive spam/botnet traffic, IP traffic for Voip QOS is improved.
